Pokémon 30th Celebration Card List and Rarities: FUR, 30 Pikachu and Historic Cards

Anniversary sets tend to be announced with a lot of noise and very little detail. This one is the opposite: the structure of a Pokémon 30th Celebration booster is unusually well defined, and it changes how the set behaves when you open it. Here is what has actually been confirmed, and what each point means in practice.

Every card is holographic

The headline feature of the set is that all of its cards are holographic. There is no common-and-uncommon filler layer underneath the hits.

In practice this changes three things:

• Pack pacing. There is no "sorting the commons" phase. Every card in the pack is worth looking at.
• Condition sensitivity. Foil stock shows edge wear, surface scratching and print lines more readily than matte card stock. Sleeve as you go.
• Bulk value. The leftovers from an opening session are not ordinary bulk, because the base layer of the set does not exist.

Six cards per booster: five plus a holo energy

A booster contains six holographic cards: five cards and one holo energy. Knowing the exact structure matters when you compare formats, because it tells you what a booster count actually buys you across a display, an Elite Trainer Box or a bundle. FUR: the new Futuristic Rare

The set introduces a new rarity, FUR (Futuristic Rare), designed by the artist YOSHIROTTEN. A brand-new rarity tier at the top of an anniversary set is the single most consequential thing here for collectors: new rarities are, by definition, only obtainable from this release, and they set the visual reference point for the cards that follow.

Treat FUR cards the way you would treat any top-tier chase card — sleeved immediately, handled by the edges, and graded only if you are confident in the surface.

30 Pikachu, 30 artists, one guaranteed per pack

The celebration includes 30 Pikachu cards, each illustrated by a different artist, and every booster contains one guaranteed Pikachu card.

This is the design decision that defines the set's collecting experience. It means:

• Nobody opens a dry pack. There is always one Pikachu to find.
• A clear, finite goal. Thirty cards is a chase that a determined collector can realistically complete.
• Art, not power, as the driver. The appeal of the thirty is illustration style, so preference is personal rather than competitive.

Completing all thirty from packs alone takes serious volume. Most collectors will open some and fill the remainder as single cards.

30 historic cards with a special treatment

Alongside the Pikachu run, the set reissues 30 cards from the game's history with a special finish. These are the nostalgia anchors of the release: recognisable cards from across three decades, reprinted with the set's celebratory treatment rather than as straight reprints.

What we are not going to claim

There are numbers circulating online that we are not going to repeat: pull rates, per-box guarantees beyond the Pikachu, projected values and complete pre-release checklists. Where a detail has not been officially confirmed, we leave it out. If you see a specific card listed in our M6a single-card collection with its card number, that listing is the reliable source — it reflects what we actually have on file.

Before you open anything

• Sleeve as you pull, not at the end of the session.
• Work on a clean, soft surface; foil scratches easily against bare tables.
• Separate anything destined for grading immediately, and read our grading company guide first.
• Keep one sealed unit back if long-term sealed condition matters to you.
